Amway Products and Business Model: My Experience!

Pros

Amway has a really good selection of products, especially their Nutrilite supplements and Artistry skincare line. I’ve used both, and honestly, the quality feels great. I’ve also tried their home care stuff like cleaning products, and they’re solid too, plus it’s nice knowing you’re using something safer for the environment. Another thing I like is how much support they offer to help you sell—there are a lot of training tools and guides, so you don’t feel lost. It’s also cool that they’ve been around for so long, feels like they’re a stable company.

Cons

Not too many big cons, but I will say that the MLM model can be tricky. You really need to be good at recruiting people if you want to make the big bucks, and not everyone is comfortable doing that. It can also be tough to convince folks to pay higher prices for the products when there are cheaper alternatives out there. So, it's definitely not an easy or instant money-maker, but if you're committed, it can work.

Overall, I’d say I’ve had a positive experience with Amway. Their products are high quality, and if you’re into health and beauty stuff, there’s a lot to like. The business side? Well, it’s definitely not for everyone, but if you’re willing to put in the effort, it can be rewarding. Just know that it's not going to be a get-rich-quick thing, and success will really depend on your ability to sell and recruit.

Amway Compensation Plan

Discover the multiple ways Independent Business Owners (IBOs) can earn with Amway.

1. Retail Margin

IBOs purchase Amway products at a wholesale price and sell them at retail prices. The difference between the wholesale and retail prices is the retail margin, which is the direct profit from each sale.

Example

If an IBO purchases a product for $10 wholesale and sells it for $15 retail, their retail margin is $5.

2. Performance Bonus

The performance bonus is calculated based on the Personal Volume (PV) and Business Volume (BV). As your PV increases, the percentage of your bonus increases. The bonus ranges from 3% to 21%.

Personal Volume (PV) Bonus Percentage
100 PV 3%
300 PV 6%
600 PV 9%
1,000 PV 12%
1,500 PV 15%
2,500 PV 18%
7,500 PV 21%

3. Leadership Bonus

Once you reach the 21% level, you start earning leadership bonuses. You can earn 6% of the sales volume from each 21% group in your downline, encouraging you to develop leaders within your team.

Example

If a 21% downline group has $50,000 in sales, you earn 6% of that, which equals $3,000.

Grow Leaders

As you develop more leaders in your downline, your leadership bonuses increase, multiplying your earning potential.

4. Depth Bonus

The depth bonus rewards you for building multiple generations of leaders in your downline. You can earn up to 4% from each generation, incentivizing long-term growth and support for your team.

Bonus Breakdown

  • First generation 21% group: 1%–4%
  • Second generation 21% group: 1%–2%
  • Third generation 21% group: 1%

5. Ruby, Emerald, and Diamond Bonuses

Higher ranks like Ruby, Emerald, and Diamond bring additional rewards and recognition. These ranks are achieved by developing multiple 21% downline groups.

Ruby Bonus

Earn extra bonuses by reaching significant PV or by building multiple 21% legs.

Emerald Bonus

Achieve Emerald by developing three 21% legs and enjoy greater bonuses and recognition.

Diamond Bonus

With six 21% legs, you become a Diamond and earn the highest levels of recognition and rewards.
